Coach Andy Hamm and three Science Olympiad competitors — seniors Eleanor Farrell and William Engel and junior Brady Rasmussen — updated the Boyceville Community School District Board on their trip to the national tournament at the University of Southern California.
The students described tournament experiences and related activities, including a behind-the-scenes Disneyland tour and a visit to the Reagan Library. When asked about "culture shock," students noted they were among the few wearing shorts and observed what they described as distinct "Midwest kindness" compared with other schools. Mr. Hamm thanked the Board and administration for supporting the program and its travel.
The presentation highlighted the program's role representing Boyceville at a nationwide event and served as recognition of students' extracurricular achievement.
