CESA 10 updates Boyceville referendum projects; bus garage canopy and locker work advance

CESA 10 representative Alex Larson updated the Boyceville Community School District Board March 25 on progress and next steps for the district's referendum projects. Larson said Phase 1 punch-list items were completed over spring break and warranties are being tracked; Phase 2 activity includes contracts and submittal reviews for hallway and locker-room lockers, flooring sample selection, and planned partition updates in April.
Larson also described campus infrastructure work under design: parking-lot layout options were selected, and architects are designing a canopy for the planned bus garage. Larson said the canopy design will require a village variance before construction can proceed. The presentation focused on logistics intended to minimize summer disruption to school operations.
Superintendent Nick Kaiser reported the referendum fund has $11 million expended to date, with interest revenue of over $800,000 and about $95,000 remaining in investments. The Board asked administration to coordinate permitting and village discussion on the canopy variance as part of Phase 2 planning. No formal votes were required at the March 25 meeting; the Board will continue to receive scheduled Phase 2 updates.
