Council approved the purchase of fitness equipment for the new Sports Park Center after a staff presentation that included the total cost and the scope of equipment.
Brett (S11) briefed the council: the order covers between 90 and 100 pieces of exercise equipment for the facility, and "the total cost is going to be $756,123.72. And 16,000 of that is for tariffs that is built into that." He said an earlier separate order for Reese Davis’ equipment had been placed in January and that delivery for that order is expected in October. After questions, a council member moved to approve the resolution and the council voted in favor.
Staff noted that placing the order promptly could avoid some tariffs; the council did not attach conditions to the purchase during the public discussion.
