District outlines CIP goals for ISAT, ELA and math; PLCs and dyslexia PD emphasized

At the Sept. 18 meeting the superintendent presented the district’s Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) materials outlining student-achievement goals and related professional development.
The CIP lists specific, measurable targets for math and ELA across grade bands (for example, a stated district target of a 5% scaled score growth goal in ISAT math at junior high or attaining a 44% proficiency target), monthly benchmark assessments, PLC work focused on essential standards and a required dyslexia training course to be completed by teachers. Dr. Harrison described the packet as the district’s plan for “Student Achievement & Student Advancement.”
Trustees heard that PLC specialists would provide training, that the district will provide a free PD course and credit for the required dyslexia course (noted with a Sept. 20 offering in the packet), and that building-level plans for intervention and assessment are in place. The board approved the Continuous Improvement Plan packet material as part of informational items and will monitor progress through regular benchmark assessments and PLC reporting.
