District technology staff reported progress on a planned multi-year technology upgrade and asked the board for continued support to complete remaining work.
Dr. Lance Harrison outlined the three-year technology plan: centralize network cabinets in each building, replace aging switches and firewalls, deploy additional servers, and execute a staged student-device refresh. Jim Murdock and TJ Burbank — introduced as community members helping with IT — told trustees the network has been "more stable since Labor Day" but that monitoring, network design and a ticketing system are needed for accountability.
TJ Burbank described staffing recommendations and a proposed help-desk structure: at least two device technicians, one network manager and one backup. Board members asked for clearer metrics and a ticketing dashboard. Dr. Harrison noted a new web-based ticketing system will go live next week with tracking and reporting features for the superintendent and board.
Trustees accepted the update and asked administration to present metrics and a phased budget request at a future meeting. The district said many infrastructure costs have been supported by E-rate and ESSER funding and identified remaining local match needs.
