The Minidoka County Joint School District Board posted a special meeting for Sept. 5, 2024 and reviewed minutes of a July 25, 2024 negotiations session where district and employee representatives worked on revisions to the teacher evaluation policy.
Negotiators approved several specific evaluation options and agreed on a joint statement committing the District and MCEA to continue working together on evaluation and personnel policies and to make recommendations to the Policy Review Committee. Maren Oppelt, a negotiations participant, said, "if you do well in Domain 1 it leads you into the other domains. Professionalism is important." The minutes show participants voted to adopt options C through G and later approved a collaboratively drafted statement about evaluation priorities.
