The Ricardo ISD Board voted 4-0 on May 4 to authorize the superintendent to negotiate a letter of intent and related preliminary sales agreement for land west of and adjacent to district-owned property near U.S. Highway 77 in Kleberg County.
The board held a closed session under Texas Government Code 551.072 beginning at 6:03 p.m. to deliberate the possible purchase. In open session at 7:54 p.m., trustee Rosanna Arevalo moved that “the Board authorize the Superintendent to negotiate a letter of intent and related sales agreement for the acquisition of real property generally located west of and adjacent to District-owned property near US Hwy 77, Kleberg County, Texas within the material terms and parameters discussed by the Board in closed session and subject to legal review. The final sales agreement shall be presented to the Board for approval before execution.” Angela Bull seconded the motion and the measure passed with Arevalo, Bull, Carol Cannon and Mario Mendietta voting yea; three trustees were absent.
The board recorded that the negotiated preliminary documents and any letter of intent will be subject to legal review and that a final sales contract must be presented to the full board for approval before execution. The meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
