Trustees approve resolution to sell parcel at 100 Lake Trail Drive; proceeds earmarked for capital projects

CFO Dr. Bill Johnston (S12) told trustees the district holds a parcel (about 2.3 acres) received as part of a prior transaction and that state rules require offering such property first to charter schools in the district boundary; LifeSchool declined. The board moved to adopt a resolution to sell the property at 100 Lake Trail Drive and allow proceeds to be used for constructing or equipping school buildings consistent with Texas Education Code section 45.082(b)(1).
The motion, moved by Mister Sebring and seconded by Mister Knight, passed unanimously. Staff said sale proceeds will be directed to capital project priorities or site purchases and that administration will follow statutory procedures required for school-district property dispositions.
