Quality Water report: suspected leak, pump and mixer repairs, and regulatory notes

Quality Water Services LLC presented the town's water and wastewater monthly status report during the April 7 Lumberport council meeting and listed several operational concerns. The report said March drinking-water samples were submitted without issue but noted a prior paperwork violation on chlorine and turbidity for which a public notice (PN) will be drafted before October 15, 2025. It also recorded a February ammonia-nitrogen exceedance at the wastewater plant and described corrective dosing changes underway.
The report included specific operational details: pumping hours increased from 10 to 14 per day, a sign the report described as evidence that “There must be a leak somewhere in the system.” QWS said repair parts for high-service pump #2 contacts could not be sourced and that an electrician declined to provide an estimate; a spare motor is available and the motor on air compressor #2 is scheduled to be replaced on 2025-04-14. QWS also flagged lagoon mixers and starters requiring repair and said it will seek vendor pricing to address rubber pond liner repairs noted during a DEP visit.
