Lumberport council approves agenda, minutes and routine reports; hires summer part-time public works worker

The Lumberport Town Council convened April 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. and approved the meeting agenda and the minutes of March 3 and March 26, 2025. Mayor Lexi Mayfield presided; Councilors David Bennett, Judy Cleavenger, Richard Desist and Thomas Exline were present, and Councilor Micheal Stire was absent.
Councilor Judy Cleavenger moved to accept the agenda and Councilor David Bennett seconded; the motion carried. Later in the meeting, Councilor David Bennett moved to adopt the March 3 and March 26 minutes and Councilor Richard Desist seconded; that motion also carried. The council accepted enclosed routine reports from Quality Water, public works, the police department and the city clerk by separate motions. Thomas Exline moved, and Judy Cleavenger seconded, the hiring of a part-time public works worker for the summer; the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
