Riviera ISD budget workshop: district projects lower enrollment and awaits updated property values

Ms. Moreno, a district staff member, told the Riviera ISD Board at a May 27 budget workshop that the district ended the 2025–2026 school year with 403 students and that administration currently projects enrollment for 2026–2027 at between 383 and 388 students. Student registration on July 22–23 was identified as the next key data point that will inform the final budget.
Ms. Moreno said the preliminary budget uses property values received in May and that the district expects updated property values in June. She added that additional revenue factors — specifically tuition from neighboring districts and the state-computed MCR tax rate — are not yet available and may positively affect the district's revenue picture when those figures are finalized. The board was told updated revenue and enrollment information will be presented before the budget is adopted in August.
