The Markham City Council on May 6 approved the low bid from D Construction, Inc. for the Central Park Avenue Resurfacing Project, covering the block between W. 159th Street and W. 157th Street. The low bid amount was recorded at $77,248.85.
City Administrator Derrick Champion and council members noted the project is funded with a Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) grant of $100,000 and construction is anticipated to start at the end of May 2026. The council approved the motion by roll call vote, 4-0.
The council's action formally authorized the contractor to proceed once the city's engineering review and standard contracting steps are complete.
