The sheriff presented a one-year extension for inmate food services with the county's current provider, Trinity Food Services, citing a 3.5% price increase.
"What we have is a renewal for inmate food services, at the county jail with our current provider of Trinity services. This will be a 1 year extension. We're looking at an increase of 3.5% for food services there," Sheriff Holloway said. A commissioner moved to approve the contract extension, the motion was seconded, and the court approved the extension by voice vote.
Commissioners noted the one-year term gives them an opportunity to research alternatives before committing to a longer renewal.
