Vice President Cori Vahalik called the Royal Independent School District special board meeting to order at 5:17 p.m., confirmed that notice had been posted under the Texas Open Meetings Act and stated that a quorum was present. "I CALL THIS MEETING OF THE ROYAL INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO ORDER. LET THE RECORD SHOW THAT A QUORUM OF BOARD MEMBERS IS PRESENT, THAT THIS MEETING HAS BEEN DULY CALLED, AND THAT NOTICE OF THIS MEETING HAS BEEN POSTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TEXAS OPEN MEETING ACT, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE CHAPTER 551," the minutes record.
The meeting record lists four trustees present (Rose Jones, Traci Seward, Cori Vahalik and Melissa Woods) and three absent (Elton Foster, Scott Hartman and Jimmy Meader). After the board adopted the resolution rejecting the Waller County Appraisal District purchase request, Trustee Rose Jones moved to adjourn at 5:21 p.m.; Trustee Traci Seward seconded and the motion passed 4-0. The minutes were later certified and attested in the meeting record.
