The Royal Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a motion to apply to the Texas Education Agency for a delay of teacher certification requirements, following a recommendation from administration. Trustee Cori Vahalik made the motion and Trustee Rose Jones seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
During discussion Trustee Elton Foster asked whether the 29 DOI teachers would be broken down by campus. Superintendent Dr. Pape said that information will be shown on the contracts when they are brought to the board for approval.
