The council approved a package of special-use permits covering public-safety training and community events. A previously approved rope-rescue training permit for Stillwater County Search and Rescue was reauthorized with revised dates: Sept. 11–14 and Sept. 24–27. The council also approved a special-use permit for the Columbus High School homecoming parade on Oct. 9 and a K9 canine detection trial on Sept. 26–27.
A separate approval amended the special-use permit for the Driving for a Cure car show scheduled for Aug. 15. All motions were seconded and carried on voice or roll-call votes with no recorded opposition in the meeting record.
