San Elizario ISD board approves targeted improvement plans for three campuses

The San Elizario ISD Board approved Targeted Improvement Plans (TIPs) for three campuses after presentations by the Curriculum & Instruction team.
Mr. Troy Enriquez presented the San Elizario High School plan; no trustee questions followed. Ms. Susana Frescas presented Josefa L. Sambrano Elementary’s plan; Trustee Eduardo Chavez asked whether MClass is a computerized test and was told by Frescas that "the test is administered by a teacher." Frescas also explained the two-hour professional learning community schedule and said teachers requested Spanish materials to implement the Bluebonnet curriculum in Dual Language classrooms. Ms. Julissa Esquivel presented Lorenzo G. Loya Primary School’s plan; trustees asked no follow-up questions.
Trustee Alexis Tellez moved to approve the three campuses’ TIPs; Trustee Lorenzo Luevano seconded. The motion passed with five votes in favor and two trustees absent.
Dr. Jeannie Meza-Chavez thanked the Curriculum & Instruction team for their ongoing work supporting campus improvement.
