At the July 27 meeting, the Groveland Community Preservation Committee reviewed the status and remaining balances of several open preservation and recreation projects. The presenter reported the community trail has just under $30,000 remaining, noting those funds are earmarked for turtle mitigation, and the larger trail-enhancement project still carries $62,153.
"We finished putting stakes where all the new trail markers are gonna be — just under roughly a hundred throughout six different trails," a committee member said, noting the group intends to geolocate the markers for easier mapping. Committee members also were told Washington Hall’s National Register work has $6,600 left and a contractor estimates 3–4 months to complete state and federal submissions. The chair discussed permitting for a bridge connection to the rail trail and said a Natural Heritage/Endangered Species Act review is pending, with staff hoping for a mid‑August response before construction can proceed.
