Scottsbluff Public Schools set the nonresident student tuition rate at $4,200 per year for the 2026–27 school year. A staff presenter said the district bases that figure on last year’s per-pupil cost of $16,508 and considers components such as federal grants and building contents when calculating the final tuition recommendation.
The presenter explained that nonresident tuition applies to students who do not live within the state or district; option students who go through the district’s option process are not billed tuition. The contract for nonresident students must be with the student’s resident district rather than with the family, and part-time placements would be prorated under the contract.
