Darien SD 61 authorizes superintendent to draft tentative FY2026 budget

At its Dec. 17 meeting, the Darien District #61 Board unanimously approved a resolution authorizing Superintendent Dr. Langman to draft a tentative FY2026 budget. The authorization is procedural but necessary to allow staff to prepare a formal budget for later board review and approval.
Board discussion identified items the tentative budget will address: allocations of fund balance for future projects and staffing, pension reform considerations, planning for teacher contract negotiations in two years, professional development, curriculum resources, and recruitment. The vote was recorded with all present members voting aye; Board Member Dana Pavlu was absent.
