San Elizario ISD recognizes student champions and staff at special board meeting

Trustees of the San Elizario Independent School District honored multiple student teams and staff at their March 4 special meeting.
Mr. Cesar Morales recognized the San Elizario High School Cheerleading Squad as 4A Game Division Champions at the 18th Annual UTEP Cheerleading Championship. The board also celebrated both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams as Bi-District Champions. The meeting recognized Teacher and Employee of the Month honors at Lorenzo G. Loya Primary School: Carla Montoya (Teacher of the Month) and Diamond Salas (Employee of the Month).
Mr. Alexander Corona and Ms. Eva Quezada highlighted Ann M. Garcia-Enriquez Middle School students’ academic achievements, noting a Science Fair Sweepstakes award, and named Samai Gonzalez as the GEMS Science Fair Sweepstakes Winner. Valentina Marin qualified for the State Science Fair competition, placing second in Materials Science at the Sun City Regional Science Fair.
The recognitions were presented as part of routine agenda recognitions and were followed by other business on the agenda. No formal board action was required for the recognitions.
