Town clerk outlines July–August qualifying period for Malabar municipal election

Town Clerk Richard W. Kohler told council that the Town of Malabar’s municipal election will be held Nov. 3, 2026, and that candidate qualifying will occur from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28 through 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 11. Seats for Districts 1, 2 and 3 are scheduled for two-year terms. Clerk Kohler said qualifying packets will be advertised and that incumbents are responsible for required filings such as the financial-disclosure Form 1.
Clerk Kohler also noted that incumbent Marisa Acquaviva is at the end of her term-limited service and will not be available to run for her seat again; Council Members Wayne Abare and Cliff Dykes remain eligible to run. Staff will post qualifying information and ensure the qualifying packet is ready for candidates during the qualifying window.
