Royse City ISD honors Spanish Spelling Bee champions and all‑state musician

Royse City ISD trustees recognized winners of the district Spanish Spelling Bee and honored a student selected to the TMEA All‑State ensemble. Three students placed first in their divisions and a high school student earned all‑state honors.
At its April 13 regular meeting, the Royse City Independent School District Board of Trustees recognized district students for academic and musical achievements.
Trustees acknowledged Spanish Spelling Bee winners: Summers Middle School student Angel Gonzalez placed first in the middle school division; Davis Elementary student Natalie Martinez won the 4th/5th grade division; and Fort Elementary student Angel Gutierrez was first in the 3rd grade division. The board also recognized Royse City High School student Matthew Harris for being named a Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All‑State musician.
The recognitions were presented during the board’s reconvened meeting following closed session. The board did not take action related to the student awards; the items were presented as ceremonial acknowledgements.
