The Royal Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 11 adopted an order canvassing the results of the May 2, 2026 bond election and declared Proposition A passed. The administration reported election returns including '2165 of the 32932 Registered Voters "For" 332 "Against" 304' and the motion to adopt the canvass passed on a motion by Trustee Melissa Woods, seconded by Elton Foster.
President Scott Hartman had appointed board members to review the returns ahead of the meeting. The board recorded the vote as unanimous in favor of adopting the canvass and declaring the Proposition A outcome; no amendment to the canvass was recorded in open session. The action completes the board’s statutory step of formally certifying the local election returns.
