Teachers brief board on classroom projects; district introduces new K–8 coach/teacher

During the Oct. 14 meeting, 5th-grade teacher Kirsten Baird spoke to trustees about student projects, listing work on "Native American homes, Inventions, Personal Narratives, Shaving cream spelling and Engage New York math," and presented a sample worksheet to the board.
The board also heard from Max Boehler, introduced as a new hire who will teach K–8 physical education, 7th–8th grade computers and coach junior-high football and basketball. Mr. Boehler said he enjoys the students, staff and community members of Northern Valley; the board welcomed the introductions and thanked staff for their classroom work.
