Board records emergency hires; district personnel slate includes dozens of new hires and transfers

The board recorded emergency hires and a comprehensive set of personnel recommendations at the Sept. 16, 2024 meeting. The minutes note an emergency hire for social studies at West Minico filled by Khali Vandever and list additional emergency hires approved at an Aug. 26 special meeting (Khali Vandever — 8th grade social studies; Emma Van Every — 7th grade ELA at East Minico).

The personnel packet submitted to the board lists many certified and classified actions for 2024-25: new hires, transfers, substitute pools, resignations, stipends and athletics appointments. Specific hires named in the packet include new certificated hires (Kent Chandler — school counselor; Renae Chandler — instructional coach; Margarita Espinoza-Henscheld — SPED teacher; Colleen Madrigal — PE teacher; Julee Posyluzny — teacher/instructional coach; Khali Vandever — emergency hire) and numerous classified hires and transfers (bus drivers, paraprofessionals, cooks, behavior techs, substitutes). The packet also includes stipend lists and athletic/activity assignments for 2024-25.

Motions to approve emergency hires and travel were made and recorded in the special meeting minutes (Aug. 26) with motions carried. The board’s regular-meeting minutes incorporate attestations (chair signatures and clerk attest) indicating the personnel actions are recorded as pending board approval where applicable and contingent on receiving mandated paperwork from the state.
