Comal Commissioners approve routine plats, agreements, purchases and budget transfers

The Comal County Commissioners Court completed several routine action items on May 29, approving amendments, agreements, equipment purchases and budget transfers on voice votes.

The court approved an amending plat that adjusted lot lines for four lots and two homesteads and carried that motion without recorded opposition. It approved a right-of-entry and access agreement with New Braunfels Utilities to allow property surveys and subsurface geotechnical investigations on county jail property for waterline improvements, amending that agreement to add a 30-day termination clause for the county. The court also approved a single desktop purchase for Constable Precinct 1 after the constable reported available non-capital savings.

On budget items, the court approved a line-item transfer to provide funds for interpreter services in Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 (staff noted prior budgeted amount of $1,000 was exhausted by a jury trial and that Spanish is the primary language demand). The court approved a $271,000 transfer to complete phases 1–2 of the Watson Lane East study and approved a transfer to cover the third quarter invoice from Harris Governance for the tax assessor's software conversion.

Motions were made and seconded on the record (for example, Commissioner Leacock moved approval of claims earlier in the meeting with a second noted for Commissioner Webb), and the court carried each listed action by voice vote. No items were tabled and no executive session was required.
