Dixon High student asks council to set Halloween trick-or-treat hours

During the public-comment portion of the Sept. 3 meeting, Preston Smith, a student at Dixon High School, asked the council to consider setting recommended hours for trick-or-treating on Halloween so residents could plan and avoid unexpected late-night visitors.
"Since Halloween is coming up, would it be possible to specifically, like, give give estimated, like, hours for trick or treating...so city residents could better plan for it and not having to worry about someone showing up at, like, 10PM," Preston Smith said. The council did not take immediate action on the request; the mayor said the item could be discussed at a future meeting if directed by the council.
