Board member Rich Wenzl moved to appoint Keith, and Christopher Rogers seconded the motion; the board recorded a 6-0 vote in favor. The motion language in the minutes reads: "I recommend to appoint Brandi Keith for District #1 Position #1." The vacancy had existed since 2019 and the board said it had received two letters of interest before making its selection.
Keith addressed the board during the hearing-of-visitors portion and outlined her interest in serving; her letter in the meeting packet lists an Almena address and contact information. The appointment was made during the New Business portion of the agenda after the board approved routine items earlier in the meeting.
