9-1-1 program, Stop the Bleed and prom apparel drive discussed at SRISD health council

The Student Health Advisory Council heard several operational updates at its Feb. 6 meeting. The minutes state a 9-1-1 program is scheduled for SRES on either March 4 or March 5; the minutes use the acronym SRES and do not expand it.
A parent reported that collection efforts have begun for a prom apparel program and that organizers are still finalizing a date and seeking volunteers and donations. The minutes say organizers should contact Mrs. Lacour for more information; the attendance list in the minutes also includes a "Melody James" as a parent, and the minutes therefore record an inconsistent last name for the parent who reported the prom drive.
The minutes also note Stop the Bleed training will be offered to students in grades 7–12; district administration is working out how the training will be delivered. Council members agreed to follow up on scheduling and volunteer needs.
The council set its next meeting for May 1, 2026, and adjourned at 8:50 a.m.
