Seguin ISD board approves resolution to shorten trustee terms to three years

Mr. Joshua Bright moved, seconded by Mr. Alejandro R. Guerra, "to approve the resolution with the changes made as stated by administration for the district assignments," and the measure passed 6–1. Ayes were Bright, Burns, Crettenden, Duncan, Guerra and Mueller; Mr. William Dwyer voted no.
Board materials explain the change by assigning expiration years for districts: Trustees in Districts 2 and 5 expire in 2026; Districts 4 and 7 expire in 2027; and single-member districts 1, 3 and 6 will hold elections in 2028 and every three years thereafter. The resolution was moved and approved as an action item; no additional amendments or financial effects were recorded in the minutes.
The vote is expected to change the cadence of future board elections and will require administrative adjustments to ballot scheduling and notifications before the next affected elections.
