Trustees hear options for raises and state incentive allotments; staff models 1% increments
Summary
Staff presented teacher salary-scale details, eligibility for state teacher-retention and teacher-incentive allotments, and sample cost calculations (examples given: one-step for all teachers ≈$128,000; combined 1% plus step estimate ≈$254,000) to help trustees weigh raise scenarios.

District staff reviewed the teacher salary scale and state allotments that could supplement local raises and explained timing and eligibility for those state funds.
"For all teachers, all 267, that'd be a $128,000," staff said as an example of step movement costs; staff later illustrated a combined 1% across-the-board increase plus step movement as an example cost of about $254,000. The presentation laid out how the teacher retention allotment (TRA) and teacher incentive allotment (TIA) flow from the state directly to eligible classroom teachers and noted that awards tied to data collection could be paid as early as August 2027 if schools are designated and funds are awarded.
Trustees asked whether enrollment and school-voucher uptake would change the district's ability to fund raises. Staff said the district uses conservative enrollment assumptions for budgeting and will continue refining figures before the June 24 budget hearing.
The presentation emphasized modeling raises in 1% increments to allow the board to scale decisions against available revenue and proposed reductions.
