"If the credits are trickled out in small amounts over years, then there should be interest calculated on the running balance NV Energy owes each customer as long as it takes," Fowler said while asking whether refunds will be larger chunks in hot months to help with summer cooling costs.
Alan Nichols and others asked why NV Energy did not audit a January billing‑statement change before issuing invoices, and raised concerns that prior refunds were partial (six months) and that many customers will wait years for full credits if the same approach continues. Staff reminded the commission the overcharge docket is open and that further filings and recommendations, including potential tariff changes or show‑cause proceedings, will follow in December and January.
The commission did not announce a new refund schedule at the meeting; staff indicated the matter remains in an investigatory docket and further work will be brought forward for the commissioners' consideration.
