On July 27 the Adams County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to set Oct. 12, 2026 as the first date to consider a resolution to declare Emergency Medical Services (EMS) an essential service in Adams County under Iowa Code Section 422D.1. Supervisor Tony Hardisty made the motion and Supervisor Leland Shipley seconded it; the motion carried with all supervisors voting aye.
During the same item the board heard that Zach Girard has a quote for a sidewalk from B&S Concrete; the board voted to table any action on the sidewalk pending an additional quote. The minutes do not record who requested the sidewalk item or any estimated cost beyond the existence of the B&S Concrete quote.
