Novi High Frog Force showcases robotics season, STEM outreach to district

The presenters emphasized that Frog Force’s mission is “to motivate and educate students to obtain real-world team building, engineering, finance, marketing, and other useful skills,” and described how Novi’s programs span Pre-K through high school. The 2023 highlights listed in the presentation included a Milford District win, recognition at the Michigan State Championship, and a World Championship finish (12th of 74 teams in 2023). Frog Force also noted student awards, including a Woodie Flowers Award finalist.
Bloom and Baskar walked trustees through the 2024 robot’s capabilities—swerve drivetrain, under-bumper intake, vision-based localization, and advanced control algorithms—and reviewed the team’s season timeline from brainstorming and CAD through fabrication and software simulation. They closed by thanking sponsors and describing district outreach programs, including middle- and elementary-school FIRST teams and summer STEM camps.
The presentation was informational; no Board action was required on the report. Trustees thanked the team and recognized sponsors for supporting the district’s robotics pipeline.
