Northern Valley adopts Activity Handbook; eligibility and concussion guidance retained

At its Aug. 12 meeting Northern Valley USD 212’s Board of Trustees approved the Activity Handbook by unanimous vote (motion by Shanna Hammond; second by Laquita Smith). The handbook addresses interscholastic eligibility, insurance procedures, concussion guidance and spectator conduct policies and was presented with the new-business items.
The Activity Handbook includes KSHSAA-recommended concussion guidance, an emergency treatment form and a removed-spectator policy that specifies escalating bans for adults or students removed from contests (e.g., 14-day and 45-day bans, with one-year bans for repeat offenses). The motion to adopt is recorded in the minutes (SEG 131–139).
