At the Sept. 15 tax‑rate hearing, Santa Rosa ISD Chief Financial Officer Marisa Cuevas outlined the mechanics behind the proposed levy. Cuevas said the proposed maintenance and operations rate is 0.786900 per $100 and includes 0.0317 in so‑called "disaster pennies"; the proposed interest and sinking rate is 0.495004 per $100, resulting in a proposed total rate of 1.281904 per $100.
The district's materials compared the proposed rate with last year's 1.257200 and showed per‑student revenue figures under each scenario. The notice also said the Maximum Compressed Rate (MCR) remained unchanged and that the I&S component decreased by $0.006996 compared with the prior year. These comparisons were presented as part of the public notice authored for the hearing.
