He stated that the community has a right to know since it is taxpapers money.” The board did not respond during the public‑comment period; the meeting later approved the consent agenda and separately approved the 21st Century reimbursement request as an action item.
The board approved the 21st Century grant February reimbursement request by motion (Mark Chairez, second Lorenzo Ovalle) with a 6–0 vote. The consent agenda included a line titled “Approve Budget Amendment for April 2025” but the public agenda text and minutes do not provide a numeric amount for that amendment in the public packet.
