Comal County court approves ESG grant application to support Crisis Center services

Tiffany Verrett, chief development officer at the Crisis Center of Comal County, asked the commissioners to approve the county's application for the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs 2025 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) renewal.
"ESG is a vital resource that enables us to support some of the most vulnerable individuals and families in our community," Verrett said. "This renewal grant allows us to continue providing emergency shelter and rapid rehousing services." Commissioner Webb moved to approve the ESG application for the Crisis Center and Commissioner Crownover seconded; the court approved the motion by voice/hand vote.
Verrett framed the grant as more than funding, calling it a lifeline for people facing homelessness; the court approved the renewal request and authorized the county judge to sign related paperwork.
