The Shallowater ISD Board of Trustees voted to certify unopposed candidates for the May 2, 2026 board election and approved an order canceling that election. Alana Hayes moved to approve certification of unopposed candidates and Kyla Hamilton moved to approve the order of cancellation; both actions passed 7-0.
The motions were recorded as agenda items 9856 (certification) and 9857 (order of cancellation). With the board's approval, the district will not hold a contested trustee election on May 2, 2026, because the candidates for the open seats were certified as unopposed in the public record.
