Councilors noted the ordinance incorporates state labeling requirements, expands prohibited high-risk maneuvers and proposes identification criteria to distinguish e-motor devices from e-bikes. Several councilors urged the committee to examine age restrictions and safety rules; one councilor highlighted pediatric trauma risks and encouraged consultation with medical professionals.
Next steps: the ordinance will be considered at the Land Use meeting for detailed language refinement, with community input and law-enforcement feedback.
