At an Aug. 5 work session summarized for the Aug. 12 meeting, village officials agreed a new ordinance is needed to regulate the use and appearance of storage containers on private property, including whether they are temporary or permanent and how they must fit with property aesthetics. The minutes say further discussion will be required to establish specific guidelines.
Chairman Bornmueller also noted the need to expand or better define residential usage regulations for sheds, campers, trailers and similar structures. The village did not adopt any regulations at the Aug. 12 meeting and instructed staff to return proposed ordinance language for future consideration.
