Utah County GOP adopts amended resolution urging Lt. Gov. Henderson to open voter rolls

Natalie Clawson formally moved to adopt the resolution and Kirby Glad, speaking on behalf of the Executive Committee, offered the amendment that added the explicit compliance language. Kirby Glad explained the Executive Committee's recommendation in advance of the vote. The final adopted language reads in part, "the Utah County GOP Central Committee respectfully requests that Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson fully complies with the National Voter Registration Act, the Help America Vote Act and the requests request made by Phil Lyman and the Department of Justice in making transparent Utah’s complete voter registration rolls." The committee recorded the amendment tally of 142–100 during the meeting.
The action is a party-level resolution and does not by itself change state practice; the record shows the committee's formal request and its expectation that state elected officials and federal agencies follow the relevant federal voting statutes.
