Salt Creek School District 48 trustees reviewed the district’s September treasurer’s report and approved routine disbursements and related consent items at the Oct. 17 board meeting.
The treasurer’s report shows total cash and investments of $20,537,207.47 across district funds, with the Education Fund holding $15,861,900.18 and Operations & Maintenance at $2,507,583.47. Board members also reviewed the district’s accounts payable for the period, including a total disbursement run of $658,581.72 covering general operating, transportation and facilities charges.
The consent agenda — which included approval of the September meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report, disbursements, P‑card purchases, revolving fund disbursements, student activity funds and the personnel report — was moved by Mr. Blair and seconded by Mr. Van De Velde. On a roll-call vote the motion carried unanimously (aye: Blair, Van De Velde, Cuny, Dickens, Downer, Kielminski).
Board members discussed several line‑items during the finance review, including vendor payments for architecture and pre‑referendum work, routine utility and maintenance invoices, and transportation charges. The board also received the monthly financial statements and an AP register that details vendor payments and purpose classifications.
Next steps: the board will accept the FY2024 audit and management letter materials (presented during the meeting materials) as part of the standard finance and audit process; staff said any follow‑up items from the audit management letter would be tracked through the business office.
