Sonora ISD recognizes teachers, staff and UIL speakers at Jan. 13 meeting
Summary
Principals recognized teachers and staff of the month—Angie Kissire and Betty Garcia at the secondary campus and Kim Boggs and Katie Gulley at the elementary campus—and UIL middle school oral competitors from Dec. 11, 2025 were acknowledged for their performance in Eldorado.
Secondary Principal Christina Rodriguez introduced teacher of the month Angie Kissire, who has taught in the district for 20 years and teaches AP English, English IV and Anatomy and Physiology, and staff of the month Betty Garcia, a 25-year PEIMS campus coordinator. Denise Arispe, UIL coordinator, presented several middle school oral speakers who competed at the UIL meet in Eldorado on Dec. 11, 2025.
Elementary Principal Heather Cearley recognized Kim Boggs (six years with the district, supports inclusion for grades 3–6) and first-grade teacher Katie Gulley (five years, teaches science and social studies). Board President Shanna Castro voiced pride and thanked staff for their dedication during the recognition period.
