Planning Commission advances sign‑ordinance revisions; 20 E. Prospect rezoning to be advertised

At the Oct. 7 work session, Planning, Zoning & Economic Development representative Evan Hiester said the Planning Commission is continuing revisions to the Sign Ordinance and recommended assembling a list of projects to support a Main Street Matters application. He also reported that staff (Michelle Poole) presented permit fees, stormwater inspection fees and administration fees that are not consistently being collected, and council discussed possible changes and enforcement steps to improve fee collection.
Hiester said advertising for a zoning map change at 20 E. Prospect Street (from Industrial to Residential Town) will be placed on next week’s council agenda. Economic development members also discussed spring 2025 flower and plantings with a suggestion that Brett Patteson approve the planting list.
