The Silsbee ISD Board of Trustees approved certification of unopposed candidates for the May 2, 2026 election and then voted to cancel the election for two trustee seats because the candidates were unopposed. Trustee Dana Hancock moved to approve the Certification of Unopposed candidates and Trustee Kenneth Fisher seconded; that motion passed unanimously.
Following certification, Trustee Kenneth Fisher moved "to cancel the May 2, 2026 Trustee Election, for two (2) Trustees, one for each place One (1) and Place Two (2), in that the candidates for both positions are unopposed." Trustee Dana Hancock seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes record the board's action but do not list the names of the certified candidates in the text.
