At its April 21 meeting in San Antonio, the Southwest Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from March 17, 2026, certification of instructional materials and several overnight student trips. Trustees Daniel Carrillo and Ida Sudolcan moved and seconded the motion; all seven trustees voted to approve the agenda.
The approved overnight travel items listed by the board included Southwest High School CTE events and competitions in College Station, NJROTC trips to Kingsville (June 1–5 and June 8–11, 2026), a Business Professionals of America trip to Nashville, a Southwest Legacy High School mariachi festival in Robstown, the 2026 Deerfoot Youth Camp to Magnolia, and a Girl Scouts Gamma Sigma Girls and Pearls trip to Utopia, Texas. No trustee recorded a dissenting vote.
