City engineer says Roosevelt and 8th Avenue work should allow through traffic by mid‑August

Leif said the railroad installed crossing planks, asphalt was placed east of Roosevelt, and concrete work for the Roosevelt intersection has begun with curing timelines to follow. "The contractor has started work on the concrete for Roosevelt itself... The anticipated schedule from the contractor was 2 weeks... We hope to see it open sooner," Leif said. He added the goal is to have through traffic restored by August 17 prior to school starting.
Council members asked follow‑up questions about curing time and staging; staff said sampling and cylinder testing would guide any earlier openings.
