Council adopts asset-management plans to qualify for state/federal funding

Council considered two related resolutions to accept the City of Mexico Beach's water and wastewater asset-management and fiscal sustainability plans. City staff explained adoption is a prerequisite for applying for loans and grants under the DEPSRF program.
"By doing that, then we qualify for any loans or grants through the DEPSRF program," staff said while introducing the water plan resolution. Council corrected a sentence that mistakenly referenced wastewater within the water plan text, approved the corrected reading by title, and then moved to approve the wastewater plan as presented. Staff were authorized to take actions necessary to effectuate both resolutions.
